Style Friday: Top 5 Women’s Grooming Pre-Date ProTips

Women-Grooming-PreDate-ProTips

When you’re going on a date, you need to make sure that you project the best image of yourself. Whether you’re dating or not, by maintaining certain aspects of your body, you will always be ready to face the world. Your outer beauty should be a reflection of your inner beauty, a reflection of who you really are. First impressions matter, it’s instantaneous, whether it’s fair or not your date will be judging you on how you look. So why not make a positive first impression. Who knows beauty better than a beauty expert … I asked Hannei from Basically Beautiful for some of her grooming and beauty pre-date pro tips for women and she didn’t disappoint!

Style Friday: Top 5 Women’s Grooming Pre-Date ProTips

1) Eyebrows

Your eyebrows frame the eyes and are a powerful non-verbal communication tool because they speak your emotions. Make sure your eyebrows are groomed properly for the shape of your face to enhance your features. A professional can help get you started with a perfect shape that you will just have to maintain.

2) Face

Your face speaks volumes to other people. It shows how healthy you are – physically AND mentally. In a sense it’s a mirror of your inner self. Make sure you always cleanse and tone your face thoroughly, including exfoliating once a week. Always remove your makeup at the end of the day and use a moisturizer that’s catered to your skin type. Eye creams help with undereye circles and keep wrinkles at bay. Your esthetician can help you choose the products that are best for you.

3) Hands & Feet

Well groomed nails are ALWAYS a must. This doesn’t mean that you have to have your nails painted but they do have to be shaped nicely and clean. Dirty nails gives off a bad impression. Make sure to moisturize always because not only does it make your skin soft it also keeps your nails healthy. Getting a pedicure will keep your feet soft and easier to maintain.

4) Makeup

Makeup should be used to enhance your features rather than make you look like another person.  Keep it natural with colors that match your hair and eyes. If you don’t like wearing foundation, a tinted moisturizer or BB cream is good to use. Also, soft lipstick, natural eyeshadow, eyeliner, and mascara go a long way to showing your true beauty. 5) Scent

No need to tell you that keeping clean and smelling nice is a requirement with a good body wash and deodorant. The fragrance you use should be a scent that is subtle (not overpowering) and be hard to forget (in a good way). Keep in mind that just because a fragrance smells great in the bottle doesn’t mean it’s going to smell great on you – your personal body chemistry makes a big difference. It’s about trial and error. A good rule of thumb to make it last longer is to layer with a scented cream and a body spray / perfume. Putting some perfume behind your ear and knees is a great way to have a subtle scent without being overwhelming.
