Practically Perfect: Striving to be Your Best Inside and Out

I recently visited with one of the best personal trainers I’ve ever met.  Although I enjoy going to the gym, I dislike personal trainers.  This trainer, Anton, was not only helpful, knowledgeable and supportive, I felt he really knew what he was talking about and I enjoyed working with him.  He knew his stuff and I appreciate that very much.  He was kind enough to share some of his thoughts and knowledge with my readers in this health and fitness feature.

Striving to be Your Best Inside and OutGetting ready for a date? It goes without saying that you look fantastic. Do you feel fantastic too? It’s widely agreed that confidence is a universally attractive trait.  So you want to be ready to bring your “A-game”. Some simple advice, start from the inside and work out! That is…work out at the gym.  While many see the gym as either a torture chamber, or a place to work on aesthetics, the benefits of overcoming an obstacle and achieving are a little less tangible. Fitting into those sexy jeans or knowing that your arms are nicely defined is one thing. What about feeling like a million bucks, and knowing you’re breaking personal best records on a weekly basis? Let me tell you folks, few things feel better than knowing you’re constantly improving and performing at the best of your ability.

Striving to be Your Best Inside and Out

It’s not about beating someone else’s record, it’s about not having to look in the mirror. You feel fantastic, and you’re putting that out into the world. Regardless of your fitness level, there’s always something that feels great. It doesn’t matter what it is, you know you’ve got something you’d like to do, and maybe it’s just out of reach.  Let me tell you, sexy jeans have nothing on achieving something you had to work hard to get to.

“Perfection is not attainable. But if we chase perfection, we can catch excellence.”~ Vince Lombardi

Set goals for yourself that are specific, but also realistic to the lifestyle you want. If you crave change, commit to it. If you want to hold on to some creature comforts, set something you know is within your grasp. Don’t be afraid to push yourself! Your goal needs to be rewarding when you achieve it!  You want your body language and your smile to convey everything that you know you’re capable of. As you push yourself to perform better and better, your body will become an outward expression of your self-mastery. If people are attracted to your body, just wait until they get to know your personality, and all the stories of success you have!

If you walk into your next date feeling like you’re a constantly evolving success story, you’ll convey that. If you’re confident in your abilities because you’ve blown through some truly challenging goals, you’re already ahead of the game. If you look in the mirror and see a work in progress that you’re enjoying your time with, you are in prime shape to meet some other truly amazing people.

Is being physically fit a part of your dating regime? I would love to hear about how you keep healthy and fit in the comments!

  1. From personal experience, I can tell you it’s much more fun to go on a date when you’re feeling fit and confident than when you’re feeling insecure and frumpy! Going to the gym/doing exercise helps for sure.
