Top 3 Resolutions for Finding Love in 2020

The year 2020 is upon us … queue all the memes and sayings about 20/20 vision in 2020. For those of you looking for love, 2020 can be your year. Perhaps there’s something to the 20/20 vision as well … think about it. You need to see perfectly to find your happily ever after.

This includes seeing inside yourself in order to be the best version of yourself, to make you happy and to hopefully attract the right person for you! This is why I’m sharing my top 3 resolutions for finding love in 2020. These have worked for me as well as many others, hopefully they will work for you too!

Top 3 Resolutions for Finding Love in 2020

I wanted to make this simple & easy peasy for you to follow. Most of this is common sense but sometimes we just have to hear it from someone else in order to action it. Make 2020 the year you keep your resolutions and put work and effort into finding love. The love of your life isn’t just going to come knocking at your door. This isn’t a Rom-Com movie! This is real life, so keep a level head and have fun dating!

Resolution 1: Prepare Yourself

You need to start with yourself. Love will begin with yourself. Make sure to “cleanse” by letting go of the old to make room for the new. It’s not cliche! You need to make space for love. If you’re hung up on something or someone then it’s taking up space. Let go. Forgive. Be happy. Take note of all your lessons learned and don’t repeat them. Love will come and fill that void.

Also, starting a gratitude journal will definitely help you open up. If you write down, each morning, several things you’re grateful for in your life (it can be as simple as waking up in the morning or having a job or having a certain friend). What this does is help you see the positive in your life and get you out of your self pity funk. All of a sudden you’ll notice you will have more and more good in your life! You will attract it!

Resolution 2: New Year, New You

Dating is competitive, whether you like it or not. You need to stand out from the crowd. To accomplish this, you need to market yourself better. Updating your dating profiles with new pictures and a new modified write up will help you get more attention.

The first Sunday after New Year’s is “Dating Sunday”, this means that Sunday, January 5th 2020 will be the busiest of the year and you will be able to connect with more people. So make sure to enhance your dating profile before then in order to have a successful experience.

Resolution 3: Keep Out of Comfort Zone

Love isn’t going to come knocking at your door, you’re going to have to make an effort. This means creating opportunities by trying out new things and experiences. Get offline to meet people, don’t always count on the apps and sites to help you connect with others. There are lots of events and activities in your area, just look up on Facebook events or and find something that interests you (not necessarily singles events).

One more thing to remember is to manage your expectations. Don’t jump into anything too fast because “slow and steady always wins the race”. Also give chances to people you might not otherwise have dated. If they seem somewhat interesting, try it. You never know.

  1. Great post. I am going to try dating again in 2020, the last few years for me were so busy where I put dating off (basically returned to school for a second masters and a teaching certificate and a state counseling certificate). Not sure how I am going to do it, but we’ll see.
