Awesome Alone [Be a Rockstar]

It is the International Day of Awesomeness! So, what makes someone awesome? They are someone who inspires admiration from others, but how? Well, there is no one answer. It depends what people look up to and value. But what I want to speak about today is how you can stand tall and strong and feel awesome alone. Whether you are single or in a relationship, feeling awesome alone is extremely important.

Firstly, you need to ask yourself what values YOU possess that make YOU awesome and proud. It could be your accomplishments or even the fact that you are a good listener or honest or even reliable. It really comes down to what you are proud of. This looks differently to different people, so do not compare your journey to anyone else’s. Knowing this will help you be more self-confident and encourage self-love and self-worth, which are traits that are so important when going through life awesome. I have encountered so many people who want to succeed in life and love but their growth is stunted because they are lacking these essential traits, not out of lack of ability but a lack of willingness to do the work necessary to move forward.

People too often go through life with an empty cup and fill it with garbage and with other people’s baggage along with their own. This almost always guarantees that you will end up with an empty cup or one filled with trash that you do not need. To fill your own cup should be to re-stock all the feel good mental, emotional and physical things you need to keep you going. When you fill your cup with good stuff then you no longer have room for all the trash or other people’s stuff, then and only then you can stand tall knowing that you are awesome alone.

This is something that is extremely important for people to do. For singles, it means you no longer leave room for the bad and hurtful matches because you are confident in who you are, what you have to offer and what you deserve. Dating with a self-full cup is like a repellent to those who are looking to waste your time. For non-singles, it means that you are recharging your batteries and taking care of yourself not only others. If your cup is so full that you are overflowing then and only then can you think about sharing with others. That is the real goal.

TRY THIS: Write down all the things that you need to fill your own cup to feel fulfilled and happy (example could be learning, health and wellbeing, social, hobby, spiritual, etc)!
